Otto Inselmann, 89, of 534 W. Main St., Deshler, died May 18 at Oak Grove Quality Care Nursing Center in Deshler. He was born Sept. 21, 1897 in Hanover, Germany, to Wilhelm and Wilhelmina (Hillerman) Inselmann. He came to the United States in 1912, and became a citizen on July 5, 1921. He married Meta Seemann on Feb. 11, 1919, and he died Sept. 19, 1979. Surviving are a son, Paul, of Deshler; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Emma) Maassel of Deshler; two foster children, Emma Wachtmann of Napoleon and Norma Arps of Ridgeville Corners; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Inselmann had retired in 1965 as a millwright with General Motors in Defiance. He had also been engaged in farming. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, and had taught Sunday School there for 25 years. He had formerly sung in the church choir. He was Richfield Township Clerk for 25 years, and a member of the Richfield Township School Board for 16 years. Funeral services were to held at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Marlow officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bloor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
