The community in general was very much saddened, Monday afternoon, when it was learned that Mrs. D. C. Brown had suddenly passed away at her home in the north east part of town. Her death was sudden as it was quite unexpected, although she had been ailing for some time having suffered a stroke of paralysis a few days ago.
Hester Anne Cammomile was born to Sarah and John Cammomile at Jackson Center, Ohio, June 21, 1861 and died at her residence in Deshler, Ohio on the afternoon of September 16, 1929 at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 25 days. She spent her childhood in the home of her parents in Jackson Center, where she grew to young womanhood. On October 22, 1886 she was united in marriage to D. Corbin Brown. For a few years after her marriage they lived in Jackson Center after which they moved to near Deshler where they have since made their home. In December 1924 they moved to their present home.
Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Brown, two of whom have preceded their mother in death and six still survive. They are Frank and Stella, deceased, Vergie, Viola, Malvin, Iniz, Wilder and Mable. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, D. C. Brown, six children as above named, one sister, Mrs. Lulfs of Napoleon, two brothers, Isaac Cammomile of Bellefontaine and William Cammomile of Gallaten.
She received her education in the country schools near Jackson Center. Early in life she embraced the christian religion and held fast to the faith of her childhood till the time of her death. She was a member of the Methodist church in Deshler.
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Methodist church, her pastor, Rev. C. W. Baltzell officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
The sympathy of the community go out to the bereaved husband and children.
