Inez Baden, 94, of Holgate died Thursday, April 25 at Holgate Quality Care. Born in Defiance on June 23, 1896, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Stork) Hagen. In December, 1923 she married Fred Binger, who died in May 1936. She then married Albert Baden in June, 1955, and he died in November, 1976, She had been a cook in the Holgate area, retiring in 1962 and was the oldest member of Holgate's St. John Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Holgate Garden Club. Surviving are her son, Fred Binger of Leipsic; daughter Mary Gordon of Holgate, stepson, Herbert Baden of Holgate; stepdaughters, Kiretta Iberhaus and Lorena Oberhaus both of Holgate; brother Alonzo Hagen of St. Louis; sister Blanch Hagen of St. Louis; five grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Services were held on April 29 in St. John Lutheran Church in Holgate with the Rev. Theodore Reilstab officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Snyder Funeral Home of Holgate handled the arrangements.
