Martin H. Hoops, 69, of 1065 Michigan Ave., Napoleon, died in Hillsdale, Mich. He was born May 5, 1912 in Bartlow Township, Henry County, to Fred G. and Erna (Brandt) Hoops. He married Esther M. Yungmann on Nov. 25, 1934, and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Don of Holgate; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Lois) Rosebrock of Napoleon, Irma Jean Hoops of Pontiac, Mich; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Francis (Martha) VanHorn and Mrs. Eddie (Eltha) Sunderman both of Deshler; and Mrs. Alfred (Hilda) Kruse of Napoleon. Mr. Hoops was a carpenter for Deshler Lumber Co. for 15 years before retiring. He also was a substitute mail carrier in Deshler and was the clerk of Richfield Township for 20 years. He held various offices at St. John's Lutheran Church; Deshler where he was a lifetime member. Funeral services were in the church, the Rev. Andrew Ballas officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
