Maude M. Shank, wife of William Ray Shank, born October 8th, 1883, and departed from this life November 3rd, 1939, age 56 years and 26 days.

She has been a member of the Deshler Methodist Church since early childhood and has labored through several departments of the church and Sunday School in Christian work to the best of her ability, she is also a member of the Deshler Chapter of the Eastern Stars.

Maude Mabel Shank was born in Sandusky County, Ohio about two miles from Fremont, to Homer L. and Carrie C. House, when at the age of six she moved with her parents to Deshler, Ohio. She received her education in the Deshler Public School and continued [living] with her parents until her marriage to William Ray Shank on February 11th, 1908, since this time making her home in Deshler, Ohio, Butler, Pennsylvania, and Columbus, Ohio until the death of her husband five months ago who was preceeded in death by two infant children born to this union.

There are left to mourn their loss, her father Homer L. House, of Deshler, Ohio, four sisters and one brother, besides a large circle of other near relatives and a host of friends.
