Funeral services for Bernice George, 92, a resident of Oak Grove Manor, Deshler were held Aug. 3 at Smith-Crates Funeral Home in North Baltimore with the Rev. Doris Shover officiating. Burial was in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Mrs. George died July 31 at the nursing home. She was born Dec. 15, 1894 in Ohio to George and Iva (Darrow) Bermer. She married Merritt B. George on Dec. 15, 1921 and he preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Kermit H. and Kenneth D., both of Bluffton, Ind., two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Vivien) Hills of Torrington, Wyo.; and Mrs. John (Janice) Searle of Sylvania; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Otis C Dermer of Stillwater, Okla., and Richard D. Dermer of Fort Wayne, Ind. Mrs George was a retired homemaker. She was a member of Hoytville United Methodist Church.
