Marie H. Nickels, 92, a resident of Oak Grove Quality Care, Deshler died Oct. 19 in the nursing home. She was born Feb. 21, 1899, in Napoleon Township, Henry County, to Henry and Wilhelmina (Gerken) Bostelman. She married Ernest W. Nickels on May 3, 1928 and he died in 1967. Mrs. Nickels was a homemaker. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, and its Ladies Aid Society. Surviving are her daughters, Betty Nickels and Bernice Nickels, both of Deshler, and a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Minnie) Cook of Toledo. Mrs. Nickels was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, William, and Henry Bostelman, and sisters, Henrietta and Anna. Funeral services were held on Oct. 23 in the Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler, with the Rev. Paul Lehenbauer officiating. Arrangements were handled by the Snyder-Bloor Funeral Home, Deshler. Burial was in the church cemetery.
