Sophia E. Welsh, 92, a resident of Winebrenner Health Care Center, died May 9 at the center. She was born Sept. 25, 1897, near Deshler to C. E. and Cornelia (Grigsby) Burner. She married Jesse E. Welsh on Oct. 12, 1918, and he died Nov. 7, 1969. Mrs. Welsh was a homemaker and receptionist at the former Harmon Funeral Home, McComb. She was a charter member of Belmore United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the Women's Aid and Women's Missionary societies. Later, she was active in the Deweyville Church of God and Shawtown Grange. After moving to Findlay, Mrs. Welsh was engaged in home companion care. She became a member of Parkview Church of Christ in January, 1974. Surviving are son, Don E., of Findlay; daughter, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Bushong of Findlay; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren Funeral services were held on May 11 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. Mark Snavely officiating. Burial was in McComb Union Cemetery.
