Walter W. Gobrogge, 81, Route 1, died at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in the Henry County Hospital. he was born June 25, 1910, in Marion Township, Henry County, the son of Henry and Katherine (Hoops) Gobrogge. On Feb. 28, 1977, he married Emma Meyer, who died in 1980. He was a retired Monroe Township farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, near Hamler where he served as an elder and financial secretary. Surviving are six sons, Ronald of Route 1 Malinta, Edward of New Haven, Ind., Melvin of Weston, Elroy and Leroy both of Oceanside, Calif., and William of Atlanta, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; and a brother Gerhard of Hamler. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ernest and Martin; three sisters, Frieda Rudolph, Sophia Fuhrhop and Minnie Fisher. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. Duane Fluechtling officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
