Obituary: Mrs. James Newman died at her home in New Athens after a brief illness, although she had been an invalid for many years. Mrs. Newman, nee Frances J. Gallamore, was born in Shelby County, Ohio. She married James Newman in January 1879 and the family moved to New Athens in 894, where Mr. Newman took charge of the Lenhart Stave Mill of which he has since become part owner.
