Valdo W. Fernbaugh, 49, of Risingsun, died Sept. 14 at Fostoria City Hospital of natural causes. Fernbaugh was born Nov. 3, 1937, in Risingsun to Brant and Edna (Healy) Fernbaugh and his mother survives in Fostoria. He married Barbara Bergeron on Nov. 1, 1959. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Sandra) Hudson of Monroe, Mich., and Mrs. Brian (Sherry) Hatfield, of Willard; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Gwiner of Fostoria and Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Pearsall of Deshler; and a brother, John H., of Fostoria. Fernbaugh was a mechanic with O'Donnell Chevy-Buick-Olds Agency in Fostoria for 21 years. For the past two years, he was self-employed as a mechanic. During the last five summers, Fernbaugh had mined for gold in Alaska. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Funeral services were held at Mann-Hare Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Rev. Walter Fisher officiating.
