Guy E. Conkey, 88, of Manistee, Mich. formerly of Deshler, Ohio died on Sept. 14 in Manistee, Mich. Born Feb. 3, 1923 in Deshler son of Clarence and Hattie (Farrell) Conkey. He married Margaret Farquharson on March 28, 1925 in Monroe, Mich. Mr. Conkey worked as a roofer in Detroit prior to his retirement. He was a member of roofer's local 149 of Southfield, Mich. Mr. Conkey moved to Manistee from Detroit in 1987. He is survived by his wife Margaret, a son, Robert of Warren, Mich. and a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Donald Robb of Manistee, Mich. He has 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, a sister, Gayle Freeman of Deshler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: King, Clyde and Raymond Conkey and a sister Ruth Ritenour. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements were handled by Johnson Funeral Home of Manistee, Mich.
