William C. Edgar, 76, of New Bavaria, died March 30 at Henry County Hospital. Mr. Edgar was born in Rudolph, OH on May 31, 1913, to Raymond and Hazel (Hill) Edgar. On Nov. 8, 1933, he married Dorothy Walters, and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, William, Jr. of Defiance, Dennis of Napoleon, and Thomas of New Bavaria; three daughters Lila Limmer of Bowling Green, Janet Rau of Continental and Cathy Sanchez of Leipsic; two sisters Bernice Collier of Pinellas Park, FL, and Betty Lou Whitson of Birch Tree, MO; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald and a sister, Juanita Sonnenberg. Mr. Edgar had been a service and body shop owner in Holgate from 1947-1976 and had also worked as a school bus driver and substitute mail carrier. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Holgate, and had served on the village's volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. Services were held on April 2 in Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate. Rev. Dana Bjorlin officiating. Interment was to be in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
