Richard Eugene DeGryse 69, of Eastland Acres, Deshler, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday at the V.A. Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. He was born Aug. 6, 1921 in Findlay to Cyril and Zola (Grant) DeGryse, and his mother survives in Arlington. He married Brenda K. Treft on Aug. 4, 1980 and she survives. Also surviving are five sons, Michael of Willis, Mich., Ronald of Laguna Beach, CA, Tom of Kalamazoo, Mich., Tim of Lawton, Mich., and Richard E.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. DeGryse retired in 1966 as a security guard for A.B.C. Security Co., in Toledo having worked at Equity Co. in North Baltimore. He served in the U. S. Army from 1944 - 1953, and was a member of DAV in Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Snyder-Bloor Funeral Home in Deshler, the Rev. James Shotwell officiating. Burial will be in Becthtel Cemetery, Van Buren.
