Donna O. Newell, 87, of Deshler, died April 26 at Putnam County Acrs, Ottawa. She had been in failing health for several years. She was born July 26, 1902, in Henry County to Ardie and Laura (Dunbar) Stanfield. She married Osro Newell on Dec. 25, 1921 and he survives. Also surviving are sons, John of Leipsic, Lloyd of McComb; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a step great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Don Stanfield of Deshler and Gehrett Stanfield of Punta Gorda, FL. Mrs. Newell worked many years ago as a cook at Deshler Elementary School. She was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held on April 28 at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, with the Rev. Marilyn Chivington officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
