Obituary: Deshler Flag, December 7, 1944: Paul Brown, local high school baseball and basketball star of a few years back, died in the Naval Hospital at Bremerton, Wash., Monday night, of tuberculosis of the spine, according to word received here. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Brown, left here Saturday, but did not reach him in time. Paul had been on submarine duty, and it is reported that all of his crew-mates were afflicted with the same disease.
