Harvey R. Dannenberg, 75, of Monroe Township, Henry County, died April 24 at Oak Grove Quality Care of Deshler. Born in Adams Township of Defiance County on Nov. 24, 1914, he was the son of Charles and Ida (Schweinhagen) Dannenberg. On Aug. 21, 1937, he married Elda Michaelis and she survives. Also surviving are a son Michael of Deshler, daughters; Patricia Nye of Napoleon and Sheryl Petersen of Hamler; brothers Walter of Fort Wayne, and Lorenz of San Juan, TX; sisters, Esther Buchhop of Napoleon and Mildred Leupp of Toledo; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Edna Diehl and Lillian Freytag Bower. A retired dairy farmer, he held a private pilot license and was an avid aviator who rebuilt three planes. Mr. Dannenberg was a member of Hope Lutheran Church where he had formerly served as a council member. Services were held April 27 in the church in rural Hamler, with Rev. Norman Norden officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
