Eva M. Shank, 88, of McClure died Oct. 20 in Henry County Hospital She had been in failing health for several months. She was born in Leipsic on Oct. 5, 1899 to William and Cora (Felkey) Decker. She married Walter J. Shank Sr. on Aug. 31, 1921 and he died Jan. 4, 1974. Surviving are eight sons, Charles of Bradner, Chester of Angola, Ind., Lewis of Toledo, Walter Jr. of Defiance, Donald of Bowling Green, Lowell of Smithfield, Ky., Jay of Grand Rapids, and Nolan (Gene) of McClure; five daughters, Helen Shank and Betty Joy of Grelton, Cora Mineff of Toledo, Milfred Kistner of McClure and Eva Crawford of Rockwood, Mich.; 63 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beatrice Sheets of Continental, Mildred Deken of Kalida and Amanda Sybert of Ottawa; and one brother, Gaylord Decker of Woodville. Mrs. Shank was a member of the McClure United Methodist Church and Roberts-McMillen American Legion Auxiliary. Services were held Oct. 23 i the Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure, with the Rev. Gary Malone officiating. Burial was in Hockman Cemetery.
