Samuel Loren Dishong, 51, died at 3:15 p. m. Saturday at his home in Deshler of a heart attack. Mr. Dishong was ill with the flu for 24 hours before his death.
He was born on May 24, 1903 in Jackson township, Wood county, to John and Esther (Anderson) Dishong and lived most of his life in Deshler. On August 23, [smudged] married [line missing] Kennedy and she died November 15, 1949.
Surviving are his parents, Jackson township; one son Ronald, and a daughter, Jo Ann, both at home; a foster son, James Kennedy, Deshler; a foster daughter, Dorothy Kennedy, Toledo; brothers, Floyd Dishong, McComb; Milford Dishong, Toledo; sisters, Mrs. Charleston (Ethel) Wisley, Toledo, and Mrs. Mildred (Edna) Sever, North Baltimore.
Mr. Dishong was a member of the Deshler Church of the Brethren.
Services were Sunday in the Harmon Funeral home, McComb. The Rev. Floyd Bowman, pastor of the church, officiated, and interment was in McComb cemetery.
