Robert J. Collier, 73, of 235 S. Washington St., Deshler, died March 8 at Oak Grove Manor Nursing Home. He had been ill for several months. He was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Deshler to Harley and Elizabeth (Williams) Collier. Surviving are two brothers, Fred of Defiance and Charles of Lyons; and three sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Mary) Frakes of Mansfield, Mrs. Darel (Betty) Parker of Leipsic, and Mrs. John (Frances) Karns, Albuquerque, N.M. Collier retired in 197 as a Methodist minister. He served as a minister from 1962-66 in Florida, Grelton, and Independence; from 1966-69 in Vaughnsville; from 1969-74 in Farmer, Melbern and Williams Center; from 1974-76 in Convoy; and 1976-79 in Kiefferville, North Creek and Westerman. He was a member of the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Deshler Camera Club. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Deshler United Methodist Church with the Revs. Floyd Fought and Delmar Young officiating. The body will be cremated. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were handled by Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler.
