Marvin E. Bostelman, 54, of Adams Township died Sept. 4 in his residence after a long illness. Born in Adams Township on Dec. 1, 1932, he was the son of Otto and Dora (Behrens) Bostelman. He married Mildred Gobrogge on Jan. 31, 1955, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, James and John, both of rural Defiance; five daughters, Janice Leopold of rural Defiance; Judith Bostelman of Wauseon, Julie Schudel and Jean Herman both of Edgerton, and Joanne Yackee of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; four grandchildren; one brother, Ervin of Dayton; three sisters, Donelda Huber of Deshler, Irma Gerken and Marilyn Behrman both of Adams Township. Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers Lester and Freddie and a sister, Loueda Badenhop. Bostelman farmed, and from 1967 to 1973 worked out of the Carpenters Union in Defiance. From 1974 to 1982 he worked for Vernon Wachtmann Construction of Defiance, retiring in 1982 because of ill health. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church near Okolona, where he was a former deacon and trustee of the church. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of American Legion Ward L. Adams Post of Ridgeville Corners. Services were held Sept. 8 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark J. Daniels officiating Interment was in the church cemetery, where members of the American Legion accorded military rites. Arrangements were by the Wesche Funeral Home.
