Augusta Carolina Basselman, 76, died Jan. 6 at Oak Grove Manor Nursing Home, Deshler. She was born in Richfield Township on Feb. 15, 1909 to Frank and Dorothea (Yungmann) Dickmander. She married Herman Basselman on Feb. 25, 1933 and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Al of Deshler and Rudy of Ridgeville Corners; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Dickmander and Rudolph Dickmander both of Malinta; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Elvera) Schuette of Napoleon and Laura Dickmander of Malinta. One brother, Julius and a sister, Martha, preceded her in death. Mrs. Basselman was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 25 years. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. at the church with pastor Earl Key officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Bloor Funeral Home.
