Geard C. Botjer, 80, a retired Deshler farmer, was dead on arrival at Heller Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, Feb. 10. A lifelong area resident, he was born in Barlow Township on October 22, 1900, the son of Harmon and Rose (Reynolds) Botjer. He married Emma Buchholz on March 28, 1923 and they lived their entire married life in Bartlow Township. Mr. Botjer was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church near Hamler, a member of its brotherhood and a former trustee of the church. Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Norman of Mansfield, Donald of Deshler and Richard of Napoleon; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Irene) Cordes of Napoleon and Mrs Joseph (Betty) Henry of Toledo; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Karl (Anna) Gobrogge of Pinconning, Mich. Preceding him in death were two sons, Frederick and Hermann and a daughter, Eleanore, all of whom died in infancy. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Patrick Boots, were held in Emmanuel Lutheran Church near Hamler. Interment was in the church cemetery.
