Obituary: Howard F. Behrens, 69, a retired farmer of Deshler, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of a sister in McComb. He had been ill six months. Born July 22, 1895 in Deshler, he was the son of Christopher and Elizabeth (Matzinger) Burns. He was never married. Surviving are brothers, Charles, Ottawa, and Grover, Fred and Frank, all of Deshler, and sisters, Mrs. Rosetta Courtright, Napoleon; Mrs. Nellie Farquharson, Deshler; Mrs. Noah (Elizabeth) McFadden, Toledo, and Mrs. Oleo Walker, McComb. A life resident of the Deshler area, Mr. Behrens was a veteran of World War I. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Dubbs Funeral Home. The Rev. James Hough officiated with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
