Obituary: John E. Behrens, a retired Baltimore and Ohio railroad employee, died Monday at 9 a.m. at his residence in Deshler. He had been ill since February. Born September 25, 1875 at Rega, Michigan, he was a son of Christopher and Elizabeth Behrens. On July 26, 1910, he married Minnie Gray, and she survives. Also surviving are daughters, Mrs. Ruby Fry and Mrs. William Budd, both of Deshler; Elizabeth, at home; Mrs. Edward Zimmerman, Betty and Ruby, all of Grand Rapids; son, Edward, at home; sisters, Mrs. Nellie Farquharson, Deshler; Mrs. Rose Courtright, Napoleon; Mrs. Cleo Walker, McComb; Mrs. Elizabeth McFadden, Toledo; brothers, Chas., Ottawa; Fred, Howard, Grover and Frank, all of Deshler; 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Dubbs Funeral home with Miss Irene Tanner officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn cemetery.
