William James Brown, 77-year old retired farmer, died Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock in his home seven miles northeast of here. He was a native of Shelby county, and was the son of Nathan and Tabitha (Donnell)(sic) Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia M. Brown, and the following children: Mrs. Blanche Fairbanks and Mrs. Elsie Chase, both of Milan, Mich.; Mrs. Nora Tarris, of Fostoria, and Fred O. Brown, of Deshler.

He was a member of the Deshler Methodist church since 1895. Funeral services were held at the church at 2 p. m. Sunday with Rev. Myrice, and Rev. Heacock in charge. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery, near Deshler under the direction of the Rader funeral home.
