Funeral services for Elmer W. Bishop, 74, formerly of 304 Hilton St., Defiance, were held at 1:30 Wednesday at Dubba-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, the Rev. Howard Herschberger officiated. Mr. Bishop died Saturday at Country View Haven Nursing Home, Napoleon. He had been in failing health the past two years. He was born Sept. 28, 1916 in Bartlow Township, Henry County to Cornealius and Helda (Baden) Bishop. He married Edna Blue who preceded him in death. He later married Mabel Fitzwater, who also preceded him in death. Surviving are four sons, David of Hamler, Ronald of Romulus, Mich., Elmer, Jr. of Toledo, Rick of Napoleon; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Vicki) Gray, of Hamler; Mrs. Eldon (Rebecca) Sickmiller of, Malinta; two stepsons, Rick Fitzwater of Brunnersburg; Charles Fitzwater ofDefiance; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl of Malinta, Billie of Hamler, and two sisters, Velora Parker, Deshler; and Pearl King of Hillsdale, Mich. Mr. Bishop retired from the City of Defiance and from Landmark. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose lodges, Defiance.
