Edwin J. Tietje, 66, of Deshler died Feb. 24 at his residence. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Tietje was born April 25, 1923, in Richfield Township, to William and Maggie (Bunk) Tietje. He married Irsel Kinder on Dec. 23, 1944 and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, Robert Sr. of Rudolph; Ronald of Deshler, and Richard of Holgate; three daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Suzette) Miller of Holgate; Mrs. Burdette (Jackie) Badenhop of Deshler; Mrs. William (Joan) Altman of Delta; 15 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and a sister, Mabel Schortgen of Waterloo, IN. Services were held Feb. 27 at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, the Revs. Barry Weyant and David Cottrell officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
