Funeral services for Gertrude G. Thomas, 85, of Akron, were held at Bloor Funeral Home in Deshler with the Rev. Delmar Young officiating. Mrs. Thomas died Aug. 8 at Colonial Gardens Rest Home, Tallmadge. She was born March 10, 1902, in Henry County to Charles and Grace (Burk) Snyder. She married Charles Thomas, and he died in 1960. Surviving are three sons, Dale W. and James B. both of Akron, and Charles E, of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Naomi Clifford and Esther Clark both of Battle Creek, Mich., Geraldine Oliver of Rudolph, Helen Corbin and Beverly Smith both of Wayne; and a half sister, Dorothy Deaupre, Bowling Green. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker.
