Ray Boyer, 76, died at Blanchard Valley hospital at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, after a serious illness of six days. A Deshler native and lifetime resident, he was a retired railway clerk.
He was born in Deshler July 31, 1893, the son of Moses and Theresa (Newell) Boyer. In 1914 he married Jennie Kline; she died in 1960.
In 1961, he married Mabel Bochert and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Elnora) Lee and Mrs. Helen Pendleton, both of Deshler, seven step-children, a sister, Mrs. Emery (Hazel) Sites, Palmdale, Calif., brothers Joseph of Cleveland and Glen (Pete) and Levoy (Doc) of Deshler. Also five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 33 step-grandchildren, and two great step grandchildren.
Mr. Boyer was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist church here.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at Dubbs-Rodenberger Funeral Home, Rev. Delmar Young officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
