Samuel David Buhler, son of Samuel A. and Anna Buhler, was born in Pleasant townwhip, Hancock Co., O., October 8th, 1877 and departed this life September 8th, 1938, and had attained the age of 60 years and 11 months. Mr. Buhler had been an extreme sufferer for a considerable period of time.
In his passing, he leaves to mourn his devoted companions, three daughters, viz. Herma, Susan and Dorothy, and three sons, viz., John, Jacob and James. One son, Herbert, died sixteen years ago.
The departed also leaves in sorrow three sisters, viz., Mrs. Ella Richardson, Palm City, Calif., Mrs. Emma Ford, Wilmington, O., Mrs. Clara Wilford, Ypsilanti, Mich. And besides the relatives, there is a wide community of neighbors and friends under a cloud of sadness because of his decease.
Mr. Buhler's parents were natives of Switzerland and migrated to the United States many years ago.
He had resided in his late farm home since he was but two yars old, and, therefore, had lived 58 years in this immediate community.
October 2nd, 1912, Mr. Buhler was united in marriage to Miss Susie Williams, to which marriage was born the children before mentioned.
Having spent nearly all his life in the vicinity of Deshler, just over the line in Jackson township, Wood Co., Mr. Buhler was a very familiary personage, and he will be very greatly missed by the entire community.
The deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Deshler for many years, joining while a young man.
Funeral services at St. Paul's U. B. Church, Deshler, O., Sunday Sept. 11, 1938 at 2:00 o'clock P. M. and conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. V. Bigelow. Rader Funeral Home in charge. Interment in beautiful McComb Cemetery, near the village of McComb, O.
