David Ash, was killed by carbon monxide gas at his home in Leipsic last Saturday morning and his wife died two days later from the effects of the gas without regaining consciousness. Neighbors become alarmed at the age couple's non-appearance at the late hour Saturday morning and broke in the house and found it filled with the gas. Mr. Ash's body was found lying athe head of the stairs where he had evidently collapsed while trying to find fresh air. His wife was found still in bed. All the windows were closed. The gas escaped from a hard coal stove in the living room. The stove is said t have been left standing during he sumer and a fire started without the chimney having been cleaned out. The soot having evidently accumulated in the pipe during the rains completely clogging it up causing the gas to back up in the house when the fire was kindled. Mr. Ash was buried in Leipsic, Monday after noon and his wife was buried Wednesday afternoon.
