Mrs. Alice Adrain was born Feb. 9th, 1848, near Belmore. On Sept, 23, 1866 she was united in marriage to Dr. Garnett B. Adrain. To them were born three children, Maggie, Cutch and John Bruce. The eldest child, Maggie, died in infancy, John Bruce, died August 10th, 1908, and Dr. Garnett B. Adrain, the husband and father, departed this life on Nov. 17th, 1908. The only member of the immediate family surviving her being Cutch Adrain French. Mother Adrain died Feb, 4th 1911, aged 62 years, 11 months and 25 days. She leaves one daughter, one daughter-in-law and six grandchildren, and a large circle of friends to mourn her departure. The funeral services were conducted at the residence on Feb. 7th by Rev. LaPort and Rev. Page, using for their text Heb. 4th and 9th. 'And there remaineth therefore a rest to the children of God.'
