Editor’s Notes

This newsletter may seem like it is full of pull-out pages – but please read each one carefully. The blue page is your ballot for the election of officers. The yellow page tells about our first Cemetery Inscriptions book, which we are very proud of. A lot of work has been done by the Cemetery and Publication Committees to get this ready. The last page is the membership form for renewal of your dues.
Our Society is now two years old and we have 70 members from all over the country. A lot has been accomplished and a lot more needs to be done to preserve the history of our ancestors. In being a young society, we are learning by trial and error how to do things. We can only grow stronger in the years to come by learning from our mistakes and by working together in the future in all that we attempt to do.
I hope each and everyone of our members will renew their membership for 1989.

From the Secretary

The Sept. meeting of the Society was held at the Library in Deshler. We had a very good business meeting in which several decisions were made. It was decided to sell the back issues of our newsletter. Information on this is on the front page of this newsletter. Dues are to remain at $7.00 per year, but the joint membership was raised to $9.00 per year. Article XI was added to our by-laws regarding the election of officers. The cemetery committee gave a report that our first Cemetery Inscription Book is almost ready to go to press. Arrangements will be made to have a table at the Mini-Convention to be held at 4-County School in Archbold on Nov. 5, 1988.
