FIRST FAMILIES

If you have ancestors who were in Henry Co. before 31 Dec 1870 (gold) or 31 Dec 1885 (silver) you may make application for First Family status by writing Kathy Bishop at First Families of Henry County . The deadline has been extended to the end of May.

RECORDS + PREPARATION = SUCCESS

In September we will be visiting the new records room of the Clerk of Courts office which is located in the basement of the building next to the courthouse. While some of the old volumes of records will be available for us to search (or for Mrs. Sonnenberg to search for us), the indexes are housed in the Clerk of Courts office in the courthouse. It is advisable for you to make a trip to Napoleon before September 16 and list the Volume and Page you will want to look at during our meeting.

DIARY OF ENOS M. JONES

Melissa Archibald, 8855 Lewis Ave. Temperance, MI 48182

The following represents names taken from my great-great-grandfather’s personal diary and notebook where he kept records of his business and entered other items of interest. I have attempted to transcribe exactly what was written but some of the writing was difficult to read and therefore may have errors. Enos M. Jones resided in the Lima [Allen Co.] and Hamler, Deshler [Henry Co.] areas of Ohio in 1874, when it appears this diary was kept.

Used with the permission of Melissa Archibald and The Ohio Genealogical Society in the format in which it appeared in The Report Vol. 41, No.4.
