MORE ON FIRST FAMILIES

First Families chairman Kathy Bishop presented a program on February 17 about how to apply for Henry County’s First Families. Requirement for a gold membership is to prove that your ancestor was residing in Henry Co. before 31 December 1870. Requirement for a silver membership is to prove residence before 31 December 1885. The researcher need not be born in Henry Co. or reside here now to become FFH (First Family Henry Co.), however you must be a member of Henry County Genealogical Society. Each step of descent from the pioneer to the applicant must be proved. Guidelines are available from Kathy.
